GK Energy Limited, one of India’s leading solar engineering and project companies, has emerged as the second-largest player in solar pump installations across the country. The company achieved this milestone under the Government of India’s PM-KUSUM scheme, which aims to promote solar-powered irrigation systems for farmers.
Over the past year, GK Energy installed more than 45,000 solar pumps across key states such as Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Maharashtra alone contributed nearly 44% of the company’s total installations, making it one of the largest contributors under the scheme. With this performance, GK Energy has strengthened its position as a trusted partner in India’s transition to sustainable agricultural energy solutions.
The company reported a strong start to FY26, with its Q1 consolidated revenue rising by 114% year-on-year to ₹324.79 million. Profit after tax grew 120% to ₹37.31 million, while EBITDA increased 122% to ₹57.41 million. This growth was driven by higher execution in solar pump projects and expanding operations in rooftop solar systems.
GK Energy has an order book of ₹10,289 million, which includes over 42,000 solar pumps and 4.5 MW of rooftop projects. The company follows an asset-light business model, sourcing components under its own brand and focusing on efficiency and scalability. It is also setting up a 1 GW solar panel manufacturing unit to support backward integration and strengthen its EPC business.
Led by experienced promoters Gopal Rajaram Kabra and Mehul Ajit Shah, GK Energy has over 18 years of experience in solar energy solutions. The company is empanelled across major states under the PM-KUSUM scheme and continues to play a key role in advancing clean, renewable energy for India’s rural economy.
With growing demand for solar-powered pumps and government support for renewable initiatives, GK Energy is well positioned to maintain its leadership and contribute to India’s goal of achieving energy security for farmers.
